Commissioned by Maurice Béjart for the 50th anniversary of his Company, this ballet is dedicated to Venice, with the music of Antonio Vivaldi. This choreographic suite sets the story of four spirits inhabiting the ruins of a lost city.
As Nietzsche wrote once in Ecce Homo: “When I seek another word for music I never find any other word than Venice”. “Casino des Esprits“ invites us to wander into Gil Roman’s dreamt Venice, through the haunting sound of the ‘Prete Rosso’.
